It's not often audiences get to help solve a murder and laugh while doing it, but that's just what happens during this fast-paced comedy/murder-mystery.  With action taking place all over the auditorium, you won't know where to look next.  Is the murderer sitting next to you?  And who are those mysterious spies flitting about the theater?  First presented to great acclaim on Broadway in 1939, this anything-but-ordinary mystery will draw you into the action.  Literally!

A long-running Broadway hit, this Tony Award-winning musical comedy follows six young people in the throes of puberty as they compete to be the spelling champ of the Putnam County Middle School.  Along the way they learn that winning isn't everything and losing doesn't necessarily make you a loser. Audience members get the opportunity (strictly voluntary) to become part of the onstage action as spellers--get to the theater early if you want to join the fun!

** Due to mature nature of some comedic elements, we recommend this show to anyone 13 years or older.

In this delightful comedy, two English Shakespearean actors find themselves down and out in Pennsylvania's Amish country in the 1950s.   When they get word of a dying heiress about to leave a fortune to her two long-lost English nephews, they hatch a scheme to get the cash. However, once they get there they realize that the sought-after relatives aren't nephews at all, but nieces!  Gender-bending is a piece of cake for a couple of Shakespearean actors until a little romance shakes things up.  Leading Ladies had its world premiere at Houston's Alley Theatre in 2004, directed by the author.

Break out the Aqua Net and cheer on pleasantly plump Baltimore teen Tracy Turnblad as she pursues her dream of dancing on the popular Corny Collins Show. It's the sixties, and change is in the air.  Our loveable, larger-than-life heroine manages to replace the program’s reigning princess, integrate the television show, and find true love--all while singing, dancing, and never mussing her hair.  Based on John Waters' campy film, the Broadway production of Hairspray won eight Tony Awards including Best Musical and Best Original Score and went on to inspire the 2007 movie remake.
