About Underwriting a show at The Plaza
How much does it cost to underwrite a production?The cost of underwriting a musical is $3,000. A straight play is $2,000. For a Plaza Live concert the cost depends on many factors, including the popularity of the act and how far they have to travel.
You will help us secure performance rights and pay for costumes and other production expenses as well as advertising in Wharton, El Campo, East Bernard, Eagle Lake and Bay City. Depending on the production and our resources, the media campaign may also extend to Victoria, Fort Bend County or Houston.

Yes, two or more underwriters may jointly support a production.
In addition to tax benefits (we are a 501(C)3 non-profit organization),

You’ll be listed above the title of the production on this web site as well as on posters and playbills; in newspaper advertisements and articles in regional media; and on t-shirts (if the production elects to have one). The usual format would be: |

If you underwrite one of the plays, you'll receive 30 tickets if the production is a musical or 20 tickets if it is a non-musical. You may use these tickets any way you wish (invite friends, family, business associates, employees, clients . . . ). You'll also receive a full page advertisement on the back of the playbill. If you do not have a business to advertise, you might want to honor a relative or friend or your favorite charity. (Honorees must be approved by the theatre's board of directors.) |

If you underwrite a Plaza Live concert or a Plaza Classics vintage film, you'll receive two complimentary tickets and complimentary beverages and snacks from our concession stand for each $500 you donate. |

No matter which type of production you underwrite, you'll receive reserved seats to the performance of your choice. |

And you may choose to host a reception before the performance of your choice. This is a great way to honor employees or clients, or perhaps to hold a benefit for the charity of your choice. It's also a great time to use your tickets! |
The Plaza Theatre, Inc., is a 501(C)3 nonprofit organization, so contributions are tax deductible to the fullest extent allowed by United States Tax Code.
